On Saturday November 24th 2018, the ABSO held its first ever National Executive Committee meeting, bringing together all national officials who make up the National Executive Committee. Being the first of its kind, this forum presented a brilliant opportunity for the ABSO to pass major resolutions and endorse its plans for 2019, including the recently launched operationalisation plan that seeks to institutionalise Blind Football across Kenya in a long-term and sustainable manner. The meeting also resolved to apply the formulated resolutionary document that gives clear powers and processes for national and regional officials. This document will work together with the trust deed to strengthen the ABSO as we go about our work, by allowing all officials to clearly know their roles making our work much more orderly and enhancing our successes. On our plans for 2019, the National Executive Committee resolved that subject to availability of funds and other logistical capabilities including transportation, the ABSO will begin conducting Blind Football activities three to four times a year in order to advance the sport in Kenya as methodically as possible. At the same time the NEC agreed that in line with our oparationalisation plan, all Blind Football activities will start at national level, working with various institutions of learning for Visually Impaired persons where potential players will be scouted and appropriate equipment obtained for basic training. This meeting was therefore a brilliant step in implementation of our programs for 2019 and beyond. As we embark on our ambitious programs in 2019, we will be constantly monitoring their impacts to ensure maximum success in outcomes. We expect to have more major meetings next year as we jumpstart our programs in earnest. More news to be shared at appropriate times. Our annual report will be published towards the end of December as is the custom.
